After the Gulf War ended, the big task was to bring all the equipment back home (in an evolution called redeployment). To aid in this, our group developed and ran PC-based systems that interfaced with and augmented a number of already existing DOD systems. I composed the first diagram to show everyone exactly where we fit in (the gray box in the middle). The second diagram is a similar one outlining the data flow during the initial deployment. It’s simpler because we didn’t really have time to develop a complex local system. Our charge was to get the stuff over there and do it fast.
